Hmmm...I am very confused by Rob whatever .... You really made no sense. If you were unhappy, why not just cancel your membership? Meathead is just trying to make a living. This site has been a positive driving for hundreds if not thousands of members. Insulting him and us because you didn't like something....Well you're listening to the world's smallest violin....
I have to agree with Panhead John and say, "Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out!" as well ....
Geez....Such Gratitude for all the times this site save your cooks.
Panhead John My apologies. That was an actual typo I did not see.

Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
The whole point of this exchange of ideas: the Amazing Ribs website, the Kinja connection on the website to ask questions on articles and recipes, the Pitmaster Club forum, Twitter, Facebook, the newsletter, Meathead’s books and ebooks, email, the fireside chats… all of it; is passing on and exchanging knowledge.
At a certain point, which is different for all of us because we bring varying levels of skill and experience, most of us will hit max. We might have taken everything in, or it might be that we’ve decided what we have is good enough, we might feel confident that with what we’ve learned we can figure the rest of it out… and of course some of us might never hit max. We might never remember what we’ve learned, and have to check back every now and then. Also, the science is constantly being refined. (A paradox of science is that the more you know, the more you don’t know; each question answered raises more questions!) If you love this stuff enough, and have the time and the energy to experiment, you’ll just keep asking questions.
Sooner or later, though, almost everyone “graduates”. The information offered is repetitious. We check The Pit: a couple jokes, some personal stuff, a new smoker… nope, nothing interesting today. Facebook? Sliders, some Pit photos. Yawn. Seen that. Meathead on Twitter? 225°, bend test, blah blah blah. Whatever. But also, of course. It’s time. You don’t keep going to Anatomy 101 just because you like it. Meathead is giving knowledge, but he’s giving stuff you’ve already assimilated.
So different things might happen, depending on the person. The first, obviously, is withdrawal of participation. This might include non renewal. It could also be leaving the forum but maintaining membership. But what also happens is… people stick around. They act as mentors, as guides, as helpers. Because everyone is at a different point in the journey. And while we’re hanging out and waiting to help, we tell jokes, we share music, we talk about our families, we show our cooks… we plan meetups, because the bonds we form are just as real as the ones we make face to face… we’re into it. We’re part of it. We, those of us who stick around, we like it. The helping, the cameraderie, the welcoming, it’s all part of who we are. And no judgement on anyone else. If you got your fill and want to move on? Come on back when you want to. You were a good housemate! Whatcha cookin’ this weekend?
So when something like this happens, I don’t get it. I mean, I get leaving. I get it when there’s nothing new, and I’m not into it enough to keep in touch; I didn’t form any bonds, I didn’t want more information, I lost interest, the group changed, whatever. So I checked out, I stopped posting, I deleted my password, I moved on. A couple places, I checked back in after a while, just to confirm it wasn’t filling my needs, and yep. It wasn’t. Or it was, and I logged in and posted. Again, whatever.
But why scorch the earth? And why Rob whatever? He never did anything other than ask questions, answer questions, share; just normal stuff.
Rob whatever; whatever. Go, stay, apologize or don’t apologize, whatever. But dude. It’s like we invited you to the cookout and you started a fight because there was pork butt and you wanted brisket. Just say your formalities and leave… or better yet, sneak out when you get a chance. Don’t take a dump in the middle of the living room floor on the way out. Please.

Mosca , that is it exactly. We've been around a long time. I know a lot about PBC, PK, and the KBQ...nothing about my new Stump's. But I can apply what I've learned here over the years, even the years when other of life's commitments took precedence. And there is always something new to discover or rediscover. It used to be a challenge. Now it's comfortable.
I come here when I need a break. I don't always have something to say and I don't feel the need to say something just to maintain my presence. I like the lack of politics and mansplaining. I don't care if some of the newer members tell me stuff I already know..they don't know me and are trying to be helpful and I want them to continue to be helpful. And it always makes me happy when some of the moderators and experts here acknowledge something I've posted, even if it was an epic fail. We have some very accomplished ladies here.
I understand it is a commercial enterprise. Like the site says, quality sites take money to run. I'll take this over "influencers" any day.
Mosca I can't let the videos out of the bag yet, but something big is about to happen. A new member feature, if the deal closes and it should, that is worth the membership fee alone...
