Thanks for this!Originally posted by Oak Smoke View PostWelcome from central Texas! Doesn’t the Big Joe III come with a slow roller?
The KJ web site does say it comes with the Slow Roller Insert. Does anyone know if an additional rack is needed to use the slow roller with the Big Joe III?

I looked at the Bid joe III when I bought my Big joe I. It does come with the slow roller and every thing you need to use it except fuel. I couldn’t find anyone raving about the slow roller so I chose to carry on without one. I learned cooking on a Kamado Joe Classic and loved it. All I was looking for was a larger version of what I had. They are great cookers and IMHO don’t need a slow roller. I saved $1,700 and can turn out good Q “most of the time”. It certainly isn’t the cookers fault when I don’t.

Welcome! I haven't read all of the posts above yet so I might be repeating: I recommend the SnS Deluxe Kamado. It functions as a kamado and with the included SnS insert it also functions as a true two zone smoker. Mine fills the roll of kamado, smoker, and kettle grill. I bought mine on sale for 20% off and free freight. Sometimes they have factory seconds for sale too.
The Most Versatile Kamado on the Market - The Slow 'N Sear Deluxe Kamado Grill gives you true two zone cooking or traditional one zone cooking - the choice is up to you!
Another good accessory: the Vortex (you can get a generic one for half the price on Amazon)
