Welcome to The Pit from upstate NY! I previously owned a Vision Classic B kamado. I have never owned WSCG, but that cooker is well represented here on the Pit. My understanding from what I have seen posted here is the the WSCG is far more responsive than a traditional kamado and handles the cold weather well. I am sure fzxdocand others will chime in with their experience!

Welcome from the Nature Coast of Florida!
Can't speak to the specific brand/flavor(s) you asked about, BUT - I can say the Char-Griller Akorn Auto Kamado has been my go to cooker for many good reasons ... it's a Kamado (Steel, not ceramic); it has the Char-Griller brand fan & controller and it's stingy as heck with the lump and smokin' chunks!

Welcome to the Pit, Smoke Machine . You're really going to enjoy coming to this site and joining others who enjoy cooking outdoors--rain, snow, or shine. Let us know about your cooks and post photos of the results.

I've owned a Weber Summit Charcoal Grilling Center since right after they were first introduced in 2016. I bought the model with the attached table, and couldn't be more pleased with it. I like the storage features that the table offers; it is sturdily built and there's nothing as convenient as having a table attached to the cooker.

I've never used a ceramic kamado so I can't address the differences first hand, but I will say that the WSCGC holds temperatures rock solid for long cooks, is very fuel efficient, and is quite responsive to adjustments that you make. You might be interested in watching this video where BabyBack Maniac compares the WSCGC to the BGE and other ceramic cookers:

The 24 inch grate is a perfect size for cooking a lot of food kamado style or less food when used in kettle mode with an indirect setup. The size of that grate offers a lot of real estate for your cooks.

The versatility of being able tailor my cooks by choosing between kettle and kamado modes is one of the reasons that drew me to the Weber Summit in the first place. I like being able to choose the most convenient cooking method based on what I'm planning to cook.

As far as accessories go, I have the Slow 'n Sear for the WSCGC which enhances its flexibility, and the Vortex which makes great wings and chicken pieces.

The Snapjet ignition is so convenient, you'll wonder how you ever did without it.

In short, you can't go wrong with the purchase of a Weber Summit Charcoal Grill, with or without the attached table.

                        Kathryn
