    Two new smokers being built

I've spent some time yesterday and today putting two new pits. One normal flow, and one reverse flow. Doing a few things different on these, we'll see if I keep those 'features' or go back to how I built 'Slick Rick'. The full-width door is not my personal preference, gonna go back to cutting the door out from the food chamber while still leaving two inches on each side. Oh well, you never know until you've tried it. Steady progress though, should be able to fire these up soon.

Bought rock steady casters from Germany (much better price than Sweden). Two fixed and two swivelling.

What with alla th Social Distancin, nowadays, math tells me th aircraft oughtta have an abundance of cargo weight availability, so a Hank's offset oughtta be categorized as a Carry-On lol

They gots th cargo room, an weight allowance available.

Fantastic. What’s the thickness of the rolled steel?

Totally envious that you know how to do this.

I love my 3/16 " smoker! I love my accessory 1/4" over fire plate.

Good eye! That one is our dog’s favorite toy, hence the ‘worn’ look! I keep replacing the stick 4 times a year :-)

      That's the swedish model.. lol

Henrik do you model up these pre cut parts yourself?
They look like they are water cut, very neat assembly.

Just a noob question here, the manifold for the chimney seems to be at the top of the cook chamber.
I've only started researching offset design recently, but I have read that the ideal position is level or slightly below the lower rack.
Or am I misinterpreting your pic?

They are water cut. The manifold is for the reverse flow model, that’s why it is positioned higher up.

I’m always amazed by guys who can work with metal. Your building cookers gives new meaning to MCS!

Henrik - What's the wall thickness of your pipe?

Everything is 5 mm, except for the main pipe which is 4 mm. The reason for that is that I can then get the metal rolled at that exact size (dia/length) with zero waste or scrap metal.

        Looks fantastic Henrik !
You just "order" the parts and you assemble it yourself?

Thanks! Well, there's quite a bit more work involved than that, but yes, I have a lot of parts laser/water cut.

It appears that on your full width door you have flanges on the door to lap over the body. Just thinking; The expansion of the metal or any warping, particularly on the firebox side end plate could cause some fitment problems?

I see your point, but you would have to run that smoker pretty hot to get it to warp or bend.

When assembling the pit I usually put a #14 guage plate in between door and end plates while welding to allow enough play and stop any jamming.
