    Excellent Blackstone service!

I need to give kudos to Blackstone's service department.

After it having rained pretty continuously all month (over 12" in July!) I was finally going to get back out on the Blackstone tonight. Knowing after all the wet there might be a little rust I went to check it out yesterday. Just a little, nothing serious, and I started cleaning it off. When it came time to light it up to finish the cleaning and reseason, nothing happened when I pushed the starter. I had some trouble with the igniter when I first acquired it earlier this year, but it had been working great up until now.

Pulled off the top and started trouble shooting, determined that it was not the battery nor the gap from the wires to the burners. Disconnected the wires and confirmed that nothing was happening with the igniter unit itself. So I contacted Blackstone support.

As part of the support call I went to register the unit and found that I did not have a legible serial number to use (as you may remember I bought this used). Support contacted me right away, but wanted me to register. I told him that I was the second owner and did not have the serial number, and knew it wouldn't be warranty covered. No immediate response, so I find the part online and order it (less than $20, so whatever). About 20 minutes later he gets back to me, and gives me a fake serial number to use for the registration. I finish that and let him know, and he tells me he's put in an exception for me and is shipping me the part no cost!

It is unfortunately back ordered, so I have not cancelled the one I bought, and will have a spare of whichever comes second. But as Blackstone had absolutely no reason to give me (2nd owner, 4 year old griddle) a warranty replacement, and did so when I was just hoping to buy one, I wanted to come and sing their praises to the community.

Thatโ€™s excellent service! I canโ€™t help wondering if you would have received that level of service prior to Weber acquiring them.

Vendor responses like this are always great to hear about. They balance the universe a bit.

I had a similar experience with Coleman a few years ago when my pop up canopy got damaged due to user error. I was already a fairly loyal customer, but even more so now.

Yes, they have excellent customer service. I bought a floor model from Walmart and it had a few issues. Blackstone said that they don't normally warrant floor models but took care of me anyway. You can read about it in my post from 2023: https://pitmaster.amazingribs.com/fo...with-air-fryer
