My new Blackstone 36" With Air Fryer

So this is all Panhead John 's fault. I was at Home Depot where I got a quick look at the Traeger Timberline XL - only $3800.00!! I was buying wire and running other errands for an upcoming project when PJ called and sent me on a wild goose chase by getting my hopes up about cheap B&B Charcoal at Walmart (Its on sale in Houston but not here). As I was walking out I stopped to look at the big Blackstone with air fryer set up. I've been eyeing this thing ever since they brought this model to market but I held off for two reasons: price and the air fryer part cannot be converted to natural gas. I've been watching for a sale for the last couple of years but no dice: no end of season clearance sales here. When I looked at the floor model today lo and behold, it was marked down - twice!

This was on the griddle itself:

But this was on the side shelf:

On the Walmart website it has been listed at $697.00 not $647.00 like the sign says (Currently on sale for $578.00). This is up $100 since 2020. I've never seen Walmart mark them down more than about $75.00 in the past. Needless to say I jumped on it - it actually fit in the back of my SUV once the shelves were folded down and the top removed.

I expected to have issues since it is the floor model but so far the only issue is the knob second from left free spins and pops right off. Where I unloaded it is in direct sun so I'll take a closer look at it this evening. Now to buy a cover for it.

Congrats my friend, you’re gonna love having a griddle! Don’t be surprised if your other cookers get neglected. Soo glad I had a part in helping you spend your money!

I was just thinking about this. Probably 95% of my outdoor cooking this summer has been on the griddle.

Interesting! MCS lurks, but available space should keep it in check. But, I still will take a closer look.

A quick look at the bad knob when a cloud came over and hid the sun (its 105o today) reveled that the valve stem comes out with the knob. The valve might have to be replaced - I sent a message to Blackstone customer support.

Great find! But yeah... the valve stem shouldn't be pulling out of the valve - the knob should pull off the stem. I imagine that valve is toast. Hopefully you can still use it while waiting on a replacement valve, and just work around that one burner.
