I cook very few griddle-worthy meals, since our breakfasts and lunches are very simple affairs: I don't eat either meal and husband wants something very small, usually a fruit and a protein like cottage cheese or chicken salad--or small leftover portions.
Even when the kids come to visit with their little ones in tow, I leave the fancy breakfast-making to them. The last 2 visits, they didn't even break out the Neuske's bacon that I had purchased or the package of my home-smoked bacon either. They'd rather sip their smoothies or eat their granola crunch on the deck chairs while I give the grandgirls the kind of breakfast they never get at home: Lucky Charms with Marshmallows and donuts.
So try as hard as I can, there's not enough MCS rationalization for a stand-alone Blackstone, much as I'd like to join the club and play with a new toy.
The large Steelmade Griddle I purchased for my 6 burner Summit gasser serves us well for the smashburgers, Philly steak sammies, etc. that I like using it for. Most stir fries are done on my wok on my outside Camp Chef Somerset gas range with their 30K BTU burners.
Plus, as jfmorris notes, it's nice when using the Steelmade griddle on the Summit gasser that I can flip the lid down as needed to cool off. (I'm assuming one could do the same with a Blackstone lid???) Plus the gasser's 270° surround catches most of the spattering grease, a real plus for the neatnik.

Because my existing removable griddle gets such minimal use, I have no imperative to purchase a standalone griddle.
Now if only I could apply the same dismissive logic to a pellet cooker, which continues to have a recurring measure of allure, only, again, not because I need one or even like that sort of smoke profile, but because it would be fun to play with. Maybe what I need is a new hobby with an untapped source of new toys to get.
