My life has been a rollercoaster over the past few months. I have some of the best but most demanding work of my career and love it. But my family buried my brother-in-law two weeks ago after a year-long battle with leukemia. He was one of my best friends, and despite me having three male siblings, I called him my best brother.
So what does my wife do, knowing my mental conflicts? She sent me to Home Depot after work yesterday. "I called in an order of mulch," she says. "They will bring it out to your car. I'll email the receipt." A bit angry, hungry and thirsty, I pull into an order pick-up space. I told her I was there. Then went to re-organize the back of the SUV to fit the mulch. As I saw a guy wheeling a grill out of the front door, I got this email:
Happy Father's Day!

And this happened:

It's perched on the deck my BIL helped me build last May. I'm just blown away!
