It had been several months since using mine when I cooked fajitas this week. Just a bit of extra cleaning as it warmed up was all it took and then it cleaned very easily after the cook. I did apply a thin coat of avocado oil afterwards this time and really liked the look that gave.

I of course love smoked meats of all kinds, but also like quick cooks like chicken portions, pork tenderloins, steak and fish. Really into cooking of all kinds.
My outdoor kitchen has a Lone Star Grillz Adjustable and it is wonderful. There also is a Pit Boss 5 Burner Ultimate Griddle and a Pit Boss Copperhead pellet grill.
There is an outdoor fire pit that has grilling capability and limited Santa Maria-style grill raising and lowering.

That thin layer probably won't cause any issues as long as the next time you use it you bring the temperature up slowly. I think where folks have created problems for themselves is when they've coated with oil and then hit it hard with heat causing it to form a gummy mess/heavy stuck on deposit.
