Performer igniter upgrade

For those of you with a performer with the propane igniter, you may have experienced the regulator dying. From other online sources, this appears to be a common thing, and the replacements aren’t cheap.

I found this regulator at https://www.lowes.com/pd/LoCo-COOKER...ose/1000707156. I took out the Weber regulator, removed the aperture and installed it on the end of the new one

From the pics you’ll see that I have to use the dial on the tank end since I eliminated the dial on the grill itself. But for $20, this thing works better than the original. I thought I’d post this for the time someone searches for a solution.

Wonder if it would work on the WSCG? My propane igniter quit last fall.

Looking at a blow up,of,the Summit, the gas goiter looks the same. Try this first, though: there is a clip that holds the nozzle in the tube. Take the nozzle out and probe the aperture with a pin. Weber told me spiders like to get in there. it worked the first time I had problems, but eventually the crappy regulator conked out.

Thats a good idea. I remember paying something to the tune of $60 something dollars for the replacement parts. Not to mention I remember having to grind off the bolts that held the burner because they were so corroded. Good option for me the next time around.
