Well, it looks neat, but I'm not interested.

Has anybody bought this? I want to know how it works, assembly instructions/modifications, how well it works, and first hand experience. I’m not in the market, but, you know. Just curious.

Interesting, perhaps suitable for someone who's not interested in purchasing another cooker but wants extra perks and flexibility.

          I say, ....................WHY!
Then I say, you’ve got to be kidding!
          Then...............$279 buckaroos?

I’d say a tough sell because you can do the same thing with a fan and thermostatic controller for less $$.

I agree .... why ruin a perfectly good kettle. There have been similar attempts at this before without much fanfare.

My kettle is already a smoker. Slow n sear makes that easier but isn't required to smoke on it. Once you get used to it, it's nothing to hit the temp I want and hold there. I'd put that towards a bigger kettle.

+1 from my view. I can buy a whole bunch of hardwood/fruitwood from the big box stores for $279 (none of that stuff grows where I live) and get a better smoke than from any of the pellet grills.

                +2. SNS. Nuff said.

Why would you want less smoke on a Weber? And the inability to sear?

              Some calculations:
Original Kettle Charcoal Grill 22" $109.00
              Slow ‘N Sear® 2.0 $99.99
PartyQ with Weber Adaptor - $149.00
Total (less tax and shipping) = $357.99

Original Kettle Premium Charcoal Grill 22" $165 (ash catcher removed)
              Slow ‘N Sear® 2.0 $99.99
PartyQ with Weber Adaptor - $149.00
Total (less tax and shipping) = $413.99

              Master-Touch Charcoal Grill 22" $ 219.00 (ash catcher removed)
              Slow ‘N Sear® 2.0 $99.99
PartyQ with Weber Adaptor - $149.00
Total (less tax and shipping) = $467.99

Original Kettle Premium Charcoal Grill 22" $165
              The Original Spider-22 $279.00
Total (less tax and shipping) = $444

The cost isn't that much different but the versatility is greatly diminished with the Spider.

Yea forget the cost, as you say it's a dumbing down of one of the world's best cookers.

I’m sorry but that looks like a droid doing something nasty to an innocent Weber kettle.

Yea I vote we name it the Engelbert Humperdinck device for the Weber kettle.
