Weber Performer mods

[Hammo]

Hi, just recently acquired a used a first generation Performer via Craigslist for $75. Good shape overall just needs some TLC.
Does anyone have recommendations for mods on it? Also, gas assist worth adding to it?
P.S. I’m pretty handy

I know that Mr. Bones has also made a lot of mods too. He will be happy to share what he has done.

And I love the gas assist. No more burning paper that produces lots of ash, and it's simply opening a valve and pushing a button.

Edit to add that I have since replaced the ss baffle with a DnG, and the silicon plug with a brass threaded cap.

The gas assist is excellent. I also added a gasket around the lid rim.

I just drilled a couple of holes to snake my probes through. Also replaced the plastic table on one. Show us the new addition!
