Weber Smokey Joe mods

I hadn't used my lil Smokey Joe in awhile, i pulled it out yesterday to do some brats. That's when I remembered how hot the vents got on it. I got the mod for the top vent from Amazon for a few bucks, not hard to drill & install. I knew that drilling the bottom vent would be a PITA, so I just use my vice grips

I have his big brother,Jumbo.
Use it all the time when cookin’ for wifey and me,,,,kids are long gone.
I have an S&S and tap the vents with my grill brush when needed
Perfect size for small cooks

How does the S@S work for you on the 18" Jumbo? I have read elsewhere that it is made for the 22'Weber. I have the Jumbo and am wondering if getting one would improve my 2 zone cooking??? I currently smoke on the Jumbo for up to about 4 folks, using my PBC for larger cooks.
