Driving home last night I saw a familiar shape on the curb with the trash. Too dark to see much, but I put it in the truck and brought it home. Upon daylight inspection, it kinda reminded me of myself:
* showing signs of age and irresponsible usage, but they don't show so much if the light is favorable
* not what it once was, but good for at least a few more years with proper care
Oh man that reminds me of one I had years ago. Wooden handles and all. It will last you forever, just get some hi-temp paint to cover the metal and your good to go. Weber can probably get you some replacement handles if you need them.

Thanks for the encouragement. It definitely looked rough when I first checked it out, but I'm feeling pretty happy to have it now. After I got my LSG sideburner, I traded my 26" kettle to a friend who I inspired to start grilling. Been wanting to get a 22", and now I have one.
Yep a new grill grate with flip ups is only about 17 bucks and if it needs a charcoal great that is only about 13. When I said hi-temp paint get the 700 degree not the 450.
If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
Good find. I hate to see the damage to the porcelain finish, but the cost was right. Looks like the main thing missing is the ash catcher pan that goes between the legs?
