recommended size/volume of a water pan for a 22" weber kettle?
Wondering if anybody has run experiments to find an ideal size for a water pan on a 22" Weber kettle? What might be the minimum / maximum range? Would a taller, longer pan be better than a short wide one, using the same volume of liquid?
I had been using disposable pans for a couple of years, but I want to buy something that's easier to empty. I've dumped smoky, oily water on myself one too many times with the flimsy disposables.
edit: The SnS isn't possible for me right now. I live in Ecuador. Cost to import and ship runs about $110, plus the cost of the product

Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

Agree with Hulagn1971 ^. Before I helped develop the SnS though, I used a regular bread pan/meatloaf pan full of hot water set right over the coals banked to one side. Worked great. Guessing roughly 1 US quart, give or take of course.
Thanks, Good idea. In fact, I want one, but The SnS isn't possible for me right now. I live in Ecuador. Cost to import and ship runs about $110, plus the cost of the product
