Cleaned it up, loaded 1/2 bag of KBB to burn off the gunk on the grate, then when the burn off coals were dying down dumped more fresh charcoal in. Then of course the REAL test. Can free cheap kettle compare to the Primo? Only one way to find out!
It works. For quick cooks think I prefer it to the Primo actually. I can get it going faster, that is for sure. Fine temperature control just isn’t happening with it, but that is OK. Don’t always want that anyway. And this thing weighs nothing, the Primo is an immovable object. For a cookout away from home this thing will be easy to throw in the truck and haul anywhere.
