I had a Guru and now have a Fireboard. They do work as advertised. Ran a WSM overnight with the Guru. Don't have any experience in trying it on Kettle. Imagine you would have to snake the charcoal around the charcoal grate. Don't have any experience if a SnS will run for 6-8 hours within adding charcoal. Was no problem with the WSM using minion method.

I do overnight cooks on my kettle with an SnS and a CyberQ. The problem is that you may have to add charcoal at some point. I count on 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep. So I get up to tend after 6 hours.

Thanks, Brother Mosca !
First, to th OP, I can tell ya that, Yes, a 22.5" can run overnight (6-8 hrs)... either by Minion, or with an SnS, under ideal conditions...but I'd never leave mine to do so, unattended...
Tthere's a LOT of other variables involved... OAT, wind, what/how much of it yer cookin, etc...
I don't use any controllers, fans, etc., on my kettles, since I know they're gonna need at least th ash knocked loose by a gentle bump or two, prior to that time span.

Even with an fan controller and SNS I’ve got 6 hours or so with one load in a 22â€. About the same in the 26â€. Can only hold so much fuel and they aren’t insulated so that’s not too bad, really.
Though on these kettles if you need more fuel, you cover the meat to protect from flying ash, run the cleaning sweepers, add more fuel, uncover the meat, close up and walk away. Because of the ease of clearing ash out you can run the things continuously if you want for as long as you want.

- If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
Using Weber charcoal I am getting 10-11 hours from a fill of my SNS on my Weber Performer. I’ve quit stressing over exact temp, and once it’s going around 225-250, go to bed and sleep easy, leaving just the meat high alarm turned on on my Smoke. There will be some overnight fluctuation, but nothing a big hunk of meat like a butt or brisket cannot handle. If I were really stressed about the fire going out, I would set the alarms at maybe 200 and 300.
