    Napoleon kettle grill

i just added a new toy to the collection. Picked up the Napoleon Pro22k. Very similar to a Weber kettle but has some differences. Just starting to assemble and will send some pics. I have a question though. When I put together my Weber 26 kettle, I added a gasket under the lid and works very well. The Napoleon comes with a hinge for the lid. Would I still use a gasket, or do you think the extra thickness at the hinge point might hold it open?

My suggestion is to wait and see. If it leaks after you have used it for a while, you can always add a gasket.

I'd add a gasket ASAP. I still installed one on my kettle with a hinge. It really helps with probe wires under the lid.

Might be able to run the gasket from the ends of the hinge and around. Just leave it off at the hinge if it's in the way.

Thanks guys. Suggestions much appreciated. Leaning towards the gasket now. Probably easier to scrape off if it doesn’t work than to try and get the lid clean enough after it has been used.

Looks good. I have a Napoleon natural gas grill. I love it. I've used the hell out of it and it's still in great shape. Except the little pyramid sheet metal pan in the grease catcher. It's pretty much disintegrated.
