I've been wanting to get a charcoal grill this season and found a good deal on craigslist. A weber 18" SMC (3 yrs old) and a premium 22" kettle (1 yr old) for $200. Im going to meet the seller tomorrow. Any advice for things to look for when I inspect them before I buy?

1 Smoky Joe
1 PBC
4 Thermoworks POPs
2 Dot and 1 Chef Alarm
2 Temp spikes

Both for $200? Anyway, you know, are the parts all there? Rusted? Do you see a SnS laying around? Don't be afraid to bargain and or bundle.

Try to make sure the lid isnt out of round if you can. If the units have fallen over or the lids have been dropped it may not seal well.
you can lay the lid on level flat hard surface and get a good idea... spin them on the cookers too and see if it is smooth or if it catches in certain spots.
other than that you can pickup replacement charcoal and meat grates at the Walmart and Lowes if needed and order handles etc... There is a lot of good info out there on restoring kettles on a Weber kettle owner page... just google and you should find it.

Thanks fer th link, amigo!
They both purty new, an appear to be in very nice shape!!!
"Taco Handle" is a lil bent on th kettle, easily removed an tweaked, if ya want. c.~2013-2014-ish, when they were integrated, dependin on model...
Ain't seein no dings, gouges, scrapes, etc.
WSM is relatively new, as well!
Both have bright, clear, shiny porcelain...
Non-stainless grates are an expendable item on any cooker; I never factor them into value, as they are cheapo if ya shop around. looks like they jus need a lil brushin, be fine fer several years, from what pics show.
Me? I'd pick em up. Cain't hurt to very respectfully offer em $200, but I wouldn't let em git away at $225.
Any more questions, ever, lemme know; I'll help ya any way I'm able to!
Have a great weekend, go git them cookers!

Current line-up of cookers: Oklahoma Joe's Bronco Pro, Masterbuilt Gravity Series 1050, Blackstone ProSeries 4 Burner 36" griddle, Weber Performer Deluxe and Weber Smokey Joe.
Except for really obvious damage, there isn't a whole lot that can go wrong with those grills. Out of round lid is easily fixable if needed.
