I started out with a Weber kettle that a friend was going to throw out, couldn't let that happen, cleaned it up during the fire storm and started to use it the date code was from 1989, started getting tired of cleaning out the charcoal dust and went looking for a one touch, found a green one for $50.00 that needed a good cleaning (2000 vintage)and I put my new grate and SNS in it and thought I was finished, went on Craig's list and found a performer for $125 from 2009 that had hardly been used so I transferred all the good stuff to the new one and will sell the other 2, will also be putting a port for probes in the new one

webber has an almost cultish following, just ask KenC52 Me myself and I prefer to be the trend buster. I steer clear of all webber products, just because. I mean I can be a rebel if I cook on the same things you all do. No shade, I know they are great products, I just think that they shouldn't corner the market. Its the COOK, not the COOKER. lol. Man, today I am inviting disaster.

It’s not really a trend, though, it’s just a really good tool. You get good value for the dollar, it’s simple, and it works. There’s nothing flashy about it that makes it "now", it’s just a kettle. In fact, no cooker is simpler; no cooker gets you closer to "It’s the cook" except maybe a campfire, some rocks, and a grate.

I have a 48" Lang Deluxe smoker, Rec-Tec pellet smoker,1 Weber Genesis 330, 1 Weber Performer (blue), 2 Weber kettles (1 black and 1 Copper), 1 26" Weber kettle, a WSM, 8 Maverick Redi Chek thermometers, a PartyQ, 2 SnS, Grill Grates, Cast Iron grates, 1 ThermoPop (orange) and 2 ThermoPens (pink and orange) and planning on adding more cooking accessories. Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.

I still have 5 webers: Smoky Joe/Mini WSM for the camper, Jumbo Joe for picnics and smaller cooks, Q120 for dogs and burgers in a hurry, Performer gold for most everything else. Also have a Silver kettle with rotisserie attachment that I almost never use. Now I also have a Hibachi for steaks, an OK Joe Bandera for cooks that are too large for the Performer (like the 3 large pork shoulders and beans that we cooked yesterday for our church's youth) and now a Blackstone 36 inch griddle for, well just in case!

Ozzie: I got the Lodge brand. Heavy cast iron. Has to be maintained (rust) but should last several lifetimes. Magnificent for steaks, burgers, or anything skewered. I got some small ceramic tile squares and used JB weld to attach them to the feet so that it would not scortch wooden picnic tables. Also got the small Lodge griddle (gift from my amazing wife) that fits perfectly on it for eggs, pancakes, etc.
