Jus What I Needed... (Another Weber)

Well, it's been bout a month, or so, since this arrived, an I ain't even took it outta th box, yet; been cookin too much on th Big Arns, lately, I reckon.
Least I don't haveta worry bout it gettin stolen, since Smokey seems to be extremely protective of it!!!
Mebbe today is th Day, if I can catch th cat when he's away from his perch...

Notice how large his pupils get if I even get close to th box...this, in my experience, indicates that someone is about to receive severe lacerations to whatever appendages happen to violate Kitty Airspace...

(Please note that Smokey put th padded mailin envelope up toppa th box, to make his current perch. One (too) smart kitty, eh???... )

Mr. Bones Given how much you like your SJ, you are going to LOVE your Jumbo. I have both and almost never use the SJ any more but use the Jumbo constantly. Great acquisition, brother. I can't wait to see some pics. You are going to be amazed by its sneaky capacity.

Nice! I hope we get to see the unboxing soon. Ole Smokey is a wise one. I guess you'll have to keep the box no matter what you do with the Jumbo!

Congrats! I love my Jumbo. I recommend looking into a SS hinged 18" grate.

When would someone use a Jumbo if they already have, say, a 22" kettle? Additional real estate only, or are there other reasons?

Congrats on your new addition, Mr. Bones . How many kettles does that make for you (if you care to divulge)?

I have a 22" kettle and the Jumbo gets more use. It's a charcoal miser and has enough capacity to cook for 4. It seems to cook a bit more slowly than a 22 most likely due to a smaller load of charcoal. With their longer and hotter burn Weber briquettes do really well in the Jumbo.

I think you'll like it. I got the charcoal basket from Mr. Parrish for mine and love it. The lid holder works great at sealing leaks while cooking too. Goes on every camping trip with me.
