Tell me about the 18" SnS

I have SnS XL for my 26 and am suddenly considering getting a Jumbo Joe. So there is no water trough just a heat shield? Does it make sense to get the SS version or is the Aluminum version good enough?

I looked at it but decided against it. Usually when I'm using the Jumbo Joe I need every square inch of grate space I can find and with the SnS the Jumbo Joe loses too much grate space IMO. I don't use any accessories in the Jumbo Joe.

I was noticing it took up a lot of space. I have the charcoal baskets that came with my 26 I might want to use instead. Honestly I expected a scaled down SnS, and was surprised to see that wasn't the case when I visited abcbarbecue.com. I'll probably get the grill then go from there. Thanks, JeffJ .

I have the aluminum one and I really like it. I have smoked small roasts and sausage rolls on it. No need for water IMO with the smaller load and run times you'll get with a smaller cooker. It's a charcoal basket, not a Slow 'N Sear. It will add efficiency on smaller loads of charcoal since it creates an air gap between the coals and the kettle wall.
