Weber 26 inch kettle raised grate?

I’d like to raise my butts and briskets about 2-3 inches off the main grate and was wondering if there are any raised grate options for the 26 inch kettle. I did some searching and struck out.

You could always buy another grate and use some bolts or threaded rod to make legs that rest on your original grate.

The grate for the 22 has handles which act as "legs" when inverted. So, invert the grate from a 22 (grates can be purchased at most hardware stores if you don't have a 22) and you've accomplished your goal.

Just use a couple bricks and set a second grate on those.

I set my 22" grate (or smaller PBC or Jumbo/Smokey Joe grates) on 3 small wood chunks, but JeffJ has a "grate" idea. Elevating your meat with the SnS is a great thing to do, take advantage of the higher heat up there, then you can run your temps a tad lower and get greater burn time & efficiency.

Yes I do. I have only used it on the 22” kettle though. I haven’t try it on the 26” yet and probably won’t because I keep the Arteflame on it.

It may be smaller than you want, but no reason the Hovergrill options for the 22" won't work on a 26" kettle. And others have brought up a cheap option - 22" Weber grate raised up on some blocks of some kind. I think JeffJ has a good idea if you can find one of the non-hinged Weber 22" grates and flip it upside down, but I think just the 2 handles will be "tipsy", and you will still need some additional support points.

jfmorris I've never used a 22 grate in my 26 in this manner. I do have a hover grate for the 22 that I purchased from the Smokenator folks a few years ago. It works well. I recently used a grate from my 14.5 WSM in my Jumbo Joe so I could load it up. It worked well. You are probably right about the 22 grate being tipsy, now that I think about it.
