Malory cast iron grill grates look nice.

I just saw this grate this morning, and thought they look great. Seems like it would match up with a SnS better than my standard Weber hinged grate.

Unfortunately they aren't currently taking ordered, and they only make 22" grates.

Wow, what a tease! Any info on when they'll be selling them?

I'm probably worse off than most. I have looked at those Craycorts too. I'm sure I'll upgrade my grate at some point. But I'm still in the research phase.

That looks great but seems to be missing a "hook" (handle?) that could be used to hang it to the side of the kettle which I do often with my current grates.

Those really do look great - but after reading Meathead's review of cast iron I hung my cast iron grate up (which I paid extra for on my BGE)

I agree, they do look grate.

I've never been a fan of cast iron grates. Just not worth the maintenance.

I'm beginning to think you guys are right. Glad I haven't rushed out to buy a new grate yet.

Meathead killed my aspirations for a CI grate as well. After reading his book and implementing the changes, I not can appreciate the price difference between a cheap plated grate and a SS grate.

I agree with the others Attjack, I'm not a big fan. They're heavy, a mess to clean, et.c. Not worth it.

I had cast iron grates and concur with the others that they aren't worth it. Very heavy, more difficult to clean, and here in North Florida where the humidity hovers at about 99.9%, they are a bear to keep from rusting outdoors, even with a cover.

Kudos to the Pit for being straight up honest! I agree, they look like they would be hard to keep from rusting. Never used them but it seems to me you'll have to oil them after every use. Yikes!

I switched to CI grates several years ago. Since I don't cover the BGE, and live near the ocean, I have to concur about the maintenance issue. Switched to stainless this year. Much easier.
