    26" Weber First Cook

Not a bad first cook, 36 deg f. 3 rows 2 high 36 briquettes to start cook temp at 230. 3lbs Chuck Roast on at 7:45am. Took some time to get the temp dialed in. Kettle Too Cold 190 ish, Add 1/2 a small Chimney lit Briquettes. Worked okay for an hour then started to get windy.Put up tarps around EZ- Up. Add another Half Chimney temps great, good smoke! Temps Solid start doing yard work.Wind blew even harder EZ - Up is now a 10'x10'Box Kite had to remove wind block. Found an old Blanket and used it to insulate the Kettle, this actually saved my cook. Great temp control for the rest of the cook, and the blanket didn't catch fire which is a real bonus. Put Chuck in a foil pan and cover @ 185 internal temp around 6pm . 7:15 internal @ 205 start cooling grill. Chuck internal temp 208 @ 7:37 remove from grill. Did not have time to rest it properly, but it stilled turned out ok. I am amazed it took almost 12hrs to cook a 3 lbs piece of meat. Click image for larger version

Great lookin' chuckie, an' tutorial. Many Thanks!!!
Th' 26" is fuel-hungry, takes more charcoal to achieve / maintain temps.
Think of it as a big block v8, vs a v6... both get ya there; fuel consumption varies widely...

Nice cook and it looks like a lot of real estate on that 26.
