Did the kettle tip over or was it just the Chimney?

Maybe a few bricks on the little shelf would help.

The kettle tipped over chimney didn't move it was inside my gasser, I was thinking bricks would work as a temp solution, the wife was home and wasn't thrilled so I need reassure her I wasn't trying to do this on purpose for the life insurance 😜

I would think some kind of weight on the lower rack.

Huh. I have never had this problem. This would be a good reason to buy an SNS. The added weight should help it from tipping over.

But in all honesty. I would make sure the legs are properly installed to the bottom of the kettle, make sure its on a level surface and, as others have said, add weight to the bottom rack.

let us know what you come up with.

If it is sitting on the ground you could drive three stakes and then zip lock the stakes to the legs.

Others would have to weigh in on this idea. I'm not great at Word and graphic art, as you can tell.

This is the plan when I expand my patio and have a dedicated area, and I'm going to adapt this in a way with cinder blocks I have laying around

Did it tip over due to wind or was it on an uneven surface?

It tipped over because of the wind sorry I didn't make that clear.

tbob4 good call and your graphics illustrate your concept well.

This concept is actually pin pile technology and is superb.

I am a contractor and one of our specialties is decks. Several years ago I learned about https;www.diamondpiers.com (sorry about the link guys) I will try to correct it tomorrow.

After finding this amazing product delivering exceptional stability I am almost to the point of turning down jobs if the local municipality will not allow it as traditional piers have no warranty, while this has a lifetime warranty including labor.

Spinaker interestingly, Blue Mound, Mn has some really weird blue clay that actually swells during frost and being exposed to moisture. This is the only product that has worked there over the long term.

Three 16x8x8 concrete blocks under each ground contact points, "several" uv resistant wire ties around wheels/ through blocks. Might not be "The Pit" photograph worthy, but, survived yesterdays sustained 40 mph/ 73 mph gust! BOUNUS!!!! Grilling surface is at a stand up adult level.

I wonder if you could use long tent stakes that would reach your bottom grate for it. Or even a couple of dog "screws" that screw into the ground. (The ones that you hook the leash up to so the dog can run in circles)

Then your kettle could run in circles and have the sensation of being free. Or be able to go to the edge of the yard if it has to make a dump, it could dump instead of holding it in its "ash"
