    Weber Kettle Gourmet grate replacement

    I want to replace my OEM Weber Gourmet grill grate with a stainless steel gourmet grill grate. I like having the removeable center when I use my Vortex. I already have and use the SnS Easy Spin SS grate. What replacement brands have you used ? I have looked on Amazon. Thanks in advance.

    If you want the heavy duty stuff, then Hunsaker is the place. I bought a grate for my 26 and its solid.

    Made in the USA, this stainless steel food grate is ready to cook for many years without rusting. We only use heavy gauge 304 stainless steel to ensure quality

      Purc Agree with Lynn Dollar here, I bought the 26” as well and it is indeed a very nice, very well built 304 SS unit that will outlast you. Money well spent.

    I recently bought a replacement grate for my 22” kettle off Amazon. OnlyFire brand. I’m not linking it because I’m disappointed in the quality of it despite the premium price.

          The Weber OEM grates are not solid stainless steel, they are plated, and in time the plating "fails". To my knowledge you have to go aftermarket to get full stainless.

          It’s always struck me as beyond bizarre that Weber doesn’t offer these in SS for the 22, at least as an aftermarket option. They could sell a zillion of them. They do come standard on the 24” Kamado.

        Following as the grate that came with my 22” kettle is getting rusty and I want to get one with a hole for my wok

          Just a suggestion, I would make sure you have a regular cooking grate in addition to the gourmet grill grate. They’re a little on the heavy side and if you try and pick it up with one hand, the removable center piece will fall off on the ground, every time. I found it to be a PITA when I had my Weber kettle. I had no need for the removable center piece and actually threw the grate away and bought something else.

        I've had a Weber kettle for almost 20 years, and I noticed the decline in quality over that time. The first grate laster 5-6 years, then the next one lasted 4, then 2-3. I'm not abusing these.

        So I eventually went with the S&S EZ-spin, and it's holding up extremely well. 5 years plus, and no problems.

        Occasionally I think fondly of having a Gourmet Grate, but then I come to and realize it is a false mistress, and would only end in tears.

          I have the SnS Easy Spin and agree it's great.

          I have an EZ Spin too. It's at least 7 or 8 years old and holding up just fine. I'm pretty hard on it when I clean it.

          The Hunsaker option is at least as good, maybe even better, and they will likely be around for the longer haul since they aren't limited to a single product line.

        I've lots of Weber grates but never had the Weber Gourmet grill grate;

        I do have the SnS easy spin SS and a Killa Grilla SS. I do not like the size of the opening for adding wood or charcoal on these as they are too large. The movable grate rest on the meat if I need to replenish during a cook. The original Weber grate folds over and is the same size as the SnS charcoal holder.

        I don't see any measurements, but how does the Hunsaker measure compare to these others? Lynn Dollar
