Got a decent find (*I think*) on FB Marketplace.

Currently have 2 Weber kettles, a black and a copper. Been keeping my eye out for a Performer, probably get rid of one of the others.

Found this one for sale on FB Marketplace for $70, brought it home and cleaned it up a bit. It's not bad. I think I'll keep it.








"DZ" code on the vent suggests 2008 manufacture.

Gonna need to find a cover that will fit it (alot of the Amazon ones say stuff like "2013- and above") as well as new igniter kit (same problem with parts from a quick look) and such, as it doesn't work.

I think it'll do, just hoping I can get the igniter rebuilt kit for it.

Good deal.
Our local Ace Hardware has a nice selection of Weber parts. My recent $90 performer needed a new ignitor also. I went with the current battery powered one rather than the original piezo electric.

Yes, same tabletop. I had no issues. The battery version provides a continuous spark, vs a one off click. I had to dick around a bit with the wiring, but no biggie. Don't remember details, but I would do it again.

Save the $26 and get a $2 BBQ lighter. Hold it in front of the gas tube with the gas off, light it, and spin the knob. Works for me.

And then someone put up a 26"er on Marketplace last night for $120. Ugh! Looks ok, except someone painted it copper and the copper is peeling off.

I think I'd end up gelded if I brought that home...


But... I could keep it out at the shop until... well,... until I feel like the coast is clear. Hrrmmmm.
