You guys think that it would be worth $225? It's in great shape, hardly used. I can't seem to find a price for a new one to make a comparison. It's a one-touch gold, or so the guy says.

Cookers:
Large Big Green Egg with a Ceramic Grill Store rack system, and the SnS setup.
Weber Genesis SA-E-330 LP INDIGO with SS Grates, Weber Crafted frame kit, baking stone, griddle (2/3), all from Ace Hardware.
For the first time in a long time I have no kettles as I gave them all away.
Everything Else:
SnS #3 with certificate. I was their first customer.
Sous Vide equipment.
SnS and Thermoworks instant read and leave-in thermometers.
Grill Grates for BGE.
Kingsford Blue Bag, Weber lighter cubes, Weber charcoal chimneys.
Rubs with salt: Meat Church Holy Cow.
Rubs without salt: Home-mixed versions of previously sold SnS Grills Rocky's Rub and Not Just for Beef using their recipe. SPOG.
Spices: Lots of 'em.
New they are $299 at on Amazon, so not a bad price. Tax would be ~$25, so ~$100 less than new.Last edited by fuzzydaddy; May 19, 2016, 05:48 PM.

The model that fuzzydaddy referenced is the current version, it replaced the One Touch Gold. The original One Touch Gold retailed for $349.00 so in that regard it's not a bad deal. But with a brand new current version going for $299.00 it doesn't look like that great of a deal. I'd spend the additional 50 bucks on a new one.

I'm leaning toward agreeing with ribeyeguy on going with a new one, not because saving $75 isn't important, but with the new one you get the warranty and if, say the lid is out of round or something, Weber will take care of you whereas they may not if you find that used-but-looks-new one isn't sealing or something. Now, if it were half price, $150-ish, that'd be a great deal in my personal opinion.

what is the worst he can say? No!
I would go into it like this, what is a deal for you? Lets say $160, offer and let the wood chips land where they may.Last edited by Powersmoke_80; May 19, 2016, 07:09 PM.

the second rule of negotiating a price is... don't leave money on the table! Go view the item, look it over with a scowl on your face, compliment it so they know you know what you are talking about and then point out the obvious flaws (condition, fit/finish). Be ready to walk away if they aren't willing to negotiate, but never pay asking price. Dance the dance until the music stops.

I always show up with a paper bag full of $5 bills. It makes an impressive pile of money when you start counting $5 and putting them on the table. It's hard to walk away from a pile of money, especially of you hold to your price.
