I finally got a Weber 26" kettle and want to use it this weekend. I have the Deluxe SnS and medium vortex that fit my 22" kettle. Will it be underpowered if I use these accessories on the 26"? I am not planning, at least for this weekend, on a long smoke or indirect grill time. I am hoping the smaller SnS is sufficient as it gives me more indirect grill space. Planning on modifying the 26" to use the Billows as I do on the 22".

I don’t have experience with a 26”, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work out for you using as you would on the 22”. Now, for the billows, I can’t comment on that as I don’t have that experience either, but for a regular ol indirect cook or even a vortex cook, go for it!
You could also save yourself some money if you feel the SNS you have, may not big enough. I use fire bricks in my 26 to build my zones, I love them, I get to make my own zone sizes.
Congrats on your 26, I love mine, as do most 26 owners.
Cookers:
Large Big Green Egg with a Ceramic Grill Store rack system, and the SnS setup.
Weber Genesis SA-E-330 LP INDIGO with SS Grates, Weber Crafted frame kit, baking stone, griddle (2/3), all from Ace Hardware.
For the first time in a long time I have no kettles as I gave them all away.
Everything Else:
SnS #3 with certificate. I was their first customer.
Sous Vide equipment.
SnS and Thermoworks instant read and leave-in thermometers.
Grill Grates for BGE.
Kingsford Blue Bag, Weber lighter cubes, Weber charcoal chimneys.
Rubs with salt: Meat Church Holy Cow.
Rubs without salt: Home-mixed versions of previously sold SnS Grills Rocky's Rub and Not Just for Beef using their recipe. SPOG.
Spices: Lots of 'em.
I used a regular SnS in my 26” kettle for some time and it worked great. Just needed a refill quicker than in a 22” for long low and slow cooks. At that time the larger SnS hadn’t been released.
I’ve got the SNS kettle, 22”, with their SNS deluxe insert. I’d think the insert would work just fine on your 26” kettle. If needed, you can remove the water tray to add a little more charcoal. It’s a handy feature on the deluxe model, since it’s not welded in place like the regular SNS.
I also think you’d be fine to use your vortex on the 26” kettle. Just make sure you use as much charcoal as you can fit in your chimney.

Felix OJ Just a little tip here….if you haven’t used B & B charcoal briquettes before, I’d recommend to get some for your long cooks. There’s a lot of us here who use them and love em. They last a long time! I’ve done a brisket on my kettle before using B & B in the SNS and easily did a 9 hour cook with coals left over for maybe another hour or two.
OOPS: The 9 hour cook mentioned above was on my Bronco, not the Kettle. I don’t remember my longest cook using the SNS.

Thank you all.
Yes, I have been using B&B charcoal and I concur about loving em. Learned about B&B on this site, I was a long time lurker before becoming a member.
After I posted my question, found some older threads commenting that many used the smaller SnS in the 26" and it worked fine. I did modify a pizza pan as a drip pan for my 22" kettle, again thanks to this site. Will be doing the same for the 26" Kettle.
Thanks to all,
Felix
I used the regular size SNS in my Weber 26 on Wednesday to cook 4 pork butts. I have 2 SNS XLs but used the regular size one to give me a bit more space to squeeze the 4 butts on. So it can definitely work. A load of charcoal will only last 4-5 hours though so you will have to fill it more often than the SNS XL.
