I bought this grill back in the early "90's at Weber's Annual Factory Sale in Palatine, Il. At the time, I bought it because it was a great deal ( and I stood in line...for a good deal) I didn't need it. It pretty much was left unused for many years, then I brought it out of hibernation. The last couple of years this is my "Small Cook" and "Firestarter" grill along with my Performer and PBC.
Then I started checking out what Weber has now, like it....nothing. This thing is well built, heavy, vents on the side if you want to "lug" it after a cook.

Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

I agree it looks like the Jumbo Joe, but w/o a side by side it's hard to tell the differences. Anything in that vein is a very handy grill! What's the grate diameter?

This page appears to indicate the Smokey Joe & Jumbo Joes replaced the name Outrider in early 90s. I think you have a vintage Jumbo Joe at 18". Nice grill!
I'm pretty sure that is an Outrider. It makes sense if I bought it at the Factory Sale, if they were getting rid of inventory. I think I bought it in 1991 or "92.
