    Slide aside lid holder question

Anyone have one of these after market lid holders?
trying to use the lid hook is a bit of a hassle….imo.
these get mostly positive reviews on Amazon, but I trust the judgment of this group more…

Looks good to me Finster. If you don’t have one, you might consider a side shelf also. I bought one for mine several years ago and they really come in handy.

      Thanks John.
I saw that. I have the kettle set up next to a utility cart, so I have plenty of work space

Panhead John I have a similar one from BBQ Dragon (they make the fan) theirs is called the Dragon Wing. It holds up wonderfully out in the elements for probably 5 or 6 years now. https://www.amazon.com/BBQ-Dragon-Ch...gribs--20&th=1

That’s the exact same one I have for my Weber kettle at Mom’s house! You’re right, they are sturdy and well made. I also like the fact the 2 side pieces fold in, makes it easy just to lay it on the grate out of the way, when not in use.

No experience, but the rim clips that hold it in place are backwards in the photo, and I can't tell for sure if they can be rotated...

      I noticed that too...
If I get one, I'll probably spend the extra cash to get the Weber one, so I think it should be ok

You would probably use that when you are grilling, so this would be a non issue. But, when you are doing low and slow there will be some air leakage which could create issues with temperature control on a long cook. Also, I have an 18’ kettle, and the hook inside of the kettle works pretty well for hanging the lid on the kettle.

There's plenty of air leakage on my kettle even without that..
