Jerod Broussard has it! I use the same clamps (4) and the leakage reduction is significant. Yet another trick I've learned from this site.

I've yet to be able to fire things up, had work today. But I got 6 holding that bad boy down and I can almost pick up the pit with them attached so they should work pretty well.

I only used four on the 26" and had no leaks at all.

I'm definitely sticking with these 6. Only smoke leak is my hole for probes, and that only puffs when the Auber kicks on.

Almost 5 hours later kettle was sitting at 260-261(260 set temp). I had the B & B take off on me twice at night due to leaks. Backed it down to 230 so things will be ready later tonight. Both butt parts sitting nicely around 170 internal.

Tough love for that kettle must do the trick, Jerod Broussard , because your kettle/SnS/Auber setup sure turns out some amazing food. Maybe it won't work as well if you wipe it down. Don't mess with perfection!
