    17" or 18" Pizza drip pan for 22" Weber Kettle w S'N'S

I know some of you use Pizza pans as drip trays and for directing fan air to the S'N'S. Do you recommend a 17' or 18" pizza pan tray?

I have a 42 year old 22" Weber kettle that I just installed a Billows on. I usually use a spread out aluminum tray, but I would like to refine my technique, and eliminate the drippings that miss the tray. The charcoal grate is 17".

    Thank you in advance,
    Felix

Maybe a little airflow on the extreme edge is a good thing? I keep my SNS a little over from the kettle wall. I'll bet either way is fine though. I tried bending it up a bit but didn't really do much to increase the lip. I have not had any issues with too much drippings spilling over the side. You can also just line the tray with tin foil as I do and create a bigger lip with the foil.

I'm about to do this same thing with a pizza pan. Did you do anything to seal the corners where you cut and folded them?

Andrrr No, I didn't really end up bending it al all. I line it with foil and create a lip with that.

This is what I use, but they make one that is porcelain and almost half the price. You can also use this one as a griddle.

Thanks Ron B. I can’t see a photo but I presume it is the SNS CI or SS griddle. I decided to go with the cheaper pizza pan because I already have tons of cast-iron, as well as Grill Grates and their griddles.

I think I used a 16" but it might have been the largest they had at the time. Covers most of the bottom, enough for my BBQGuru fan.
