I think most all Weber Performer owners/users would agree a 26" Performer is long overdue. Maybe the folks at Weber could take a look at this sweet looking build:
I wonder how many 26s they sell. I have to think a 26 is only fer someone who is serious. It would be mighty fine but, I wonder if the masses would spend big bucks on charcoal rig.
I agree. While I would buy one, I have believe that Weber has researched it thoroughly for market feasibility and would have offered one by now if they felt there’s enough of a market for it.
Seems to me if folks are willng to pay ~ $2,100 for the Summit Kamado S6 grilling center there should be a market for a 26" Performer. But you could be right, if those S6 Kamados are flying off the showroom floors at that price why bother with at 26 Performer in the $1,000 range. Maybe I just need to find a good fabricator looking for a project? Or now that I'm retired I should take some classes and learn me up how this metal fabrication stuff is done?
I agree with the sentiment, and would love to see/have one of those. But I am thinking that a 26" Performer would likely cannibalize sales of the Weber Summit kamado, so Weber doesn't do it.
I have to think that the 26" and Ranch kettles are both a single digit percentage of their kettle sales. Also have to think that the Summit charcoal/kamado is way down there too, in number of units sold.
I am actually trying to decide if I am going to have someone build me a frame for my 26 similar to the Ranch or E6 or a Performer / S6 type cart as I am preparing for the dreaded " only one grill" days. I don’t really need the cart option as my outdoor cook area has a 30 x 50 stainless table. I am however thinking of future proofing for the time the Mrs. and I down size to a condo and I lose my awesome " cook shack"
Of course I guess I could just go the E6 or S6 route but not sure I could give up the kettle….
Hopefully when the time comes, you won't be in a condo that prohibits the use of charcoal grills. Some places there are laws prohibiting the use of open flame grills on balconies or within 10 feet of the condo/apartment building.
I got tired of waiting for Weber and did this a couple of years ago: Then after awhile I found myself using my Masterbuilt Gravity Series 1050 for nearly all the grilling and smoking while this collected dust in a corner of the garage. Eventually I got Bronco Pro fever, sold this one and used the money to buy the Bronco.
I too remeber seeing your original post on this. I'll have to search it out. Quick question, what are the dimensions of the cart and did you find it by searching kitchen or medical equipment maybe?
I would think, positioning the kettle assembly further to the left. Where the brackets are just at the edge of the tabletop would allow you to still use the lid holder.
RustyHaines , this one was 30"x48" and I got it from the AmGood store.
HawkerXP , that was what I hoped to do, but the legs were too close together to place it far enough to the end. They make a 36"x72" that would work for a mere $1,119. Way over my budget.

Graduated from the 22 I had for years to the 26 a few years ago, never looked back. I keep the 22 at my office now to cook for my employees every once in a while when it is nice out.
