    New Corian Weber Performer Table

Here is my second Weber Performer table I have made. The first one was out of Oak, but after a few years of Chicago winters, it sort of disintegrated. So today I made this one out of a piece of Corian a friend gave me for free. The color (White) isn't my favorite but the price was right. (Free)...So I think I'll manage just fine.

Yeah, it needs a little blood on it. Nice work!

What counts is that it does the job. That qualifies!

Looks very nice and the price is right. One note of caution with Corian - they can crack from a quick temperature swing. Our kitchen counters are Corian. I had a sous vide tub sitting in an area near our sink. Ran something at 165* for a bunch of hours, then lifted the tub off while still at that temp and placed an ice bath tub where it been. CRACK! The counter split! Fortunately Corian can be repaired with a special paste and a heat gun but sure freaked me out.

To head off the white thing smear it all over with sauce for max effect. 🕶

Good thing you didn't use something more expensive, and then take THAT surface for "granite."

Stain it, BBQ Brick Red in a splatter pattern of various shades. That will hide spills and stains.

I worked with Corian when it first came out the product was never meant to shine. Finish was to be a mat finish so if the surface got to the point it became shiny, you sand it down using 120 wet/dry grit sand paper wet in a orbital sander to get the little circles that the sanding would leave behind this was also the method used to remove stains that cleaners couldn't remove. So you know if you didn't.
