Curious if a band/strap clamp would work???

I really do not like the tripod design. This is why I hated an old 1997 22" kettle I had - in that case, any attempt to roll it usually resulted in one or more legs coming out of the sockets, and the entire thing falling apart. I used to just pick it up and carry it. I gave it away a couple of years ago to a friend who had the brackets that held the grates in his kettle break lose, and he knew what he was getting, and was just grateful for a new grill, while going through a divorce and raising 3 boys by himself (wife left).

      If I ever buy a 26" kettle, I'll be building a cart/table for it.

+1 on using something like a ratchet tie down, taking it easy and tightening a click at a time might put it back in round better instead of the hug method.

Write "Primo" on the lid and call it a day

It may never be the same. May it rest in peace.
