IMO it depends on what you want out of the cooker. I have a smoke vault propane smoker and owned a GMG DB. Both will give you great food, smoke vault gives you more smoke flavor but You can grill on the pellet. Neither are a true set and forget. I might leave them for an hour but not longer, I’ve learned my lesson. I liked my GMG but sold it so I can get the one I want. I really like my smoke vault and have owned it for several years and it still cooks great and makes for a decent extra oven.

Not pushing MAK just because I own one, but they currently have a $250/$500 off sale which puts the 1 star in direct price competition with some of the more popular models on the market. The 2 star is still pricey, but at $2.2K it's in competition with the fully loaded options for RecTec and others. Definitely wouldn't buy 4 of them lol unless I won the lottery.Last edited by ItsAllGoneToTheDogs; February 22, 2019, 08:44 PM.
