Congrats! Our range has the single-plane grates like that and it is AWESOME. So convenient it should be illegal to make them the old way. I find myself using the center burner with its custom-fit oblong griddle (did you get one?) a lot. It's great for grilled cheese and a couple eggs.

I hear you on replacing all your appliances. We did the same after roughly 20 years of marriage and a hodgepodge of different color appliances, it took probably 2 years, but finally they all match now. Different brand but same dark stainless finish. It is an expensive endeavor.

Mine did not come with the center griddle. The center burner is round and not oval like many. That is not the end of the world to me. I have a CI griddle for the stove and it works great on the left side. This stove was so on sale, I didn't have time to think about griddles. Other people were eying too. So I grabbed it up. I'm glad I did.
