Did I go to the Dark Side?

Naaaaa....Just one more tool in my arsenal. $75.00 Craigs List. Two blocks from the house. I think I will use this for fast weekday things and as a warmer or oven on the weekends. Click image for larger version

That burner will work nicely for starting the charcoal chimney or making stuff that would stink up the house like BBQ sauce or bacon.

OK stink may be a harsh word...."Odorizes the house for a day or more" may be better wording.

Huskee I think you mean freshen the air in the house at the expense of costing you more money at the store to go and buy even more because you made everyone hungry.

Good call. Usually it's the wife that complains of the smells, but in my house, it's the husband who wonders why our house smells like bacon for two days after I've cooked it.

I use that side burner on my Weber Summit Gasser all the time. I even use it to heat up the canner when I'm canning peaches because I worry whether the weight of the canner with all that water in it plus all the jars of peaches might just reach the weight limit of my solid cooktop. Gotta think about those things, especially if a Certain Person is angling for a Summit Charcoal Grill Center in the near future and doesn't want to break her cooktop.

A great find. I would try that, but my wife thinks both a smoker and a Weber kettle is already too much...

Sounds like the perfect combo to me. You must not be cooking her steaks right.

The last time I used a gasser I nearly blew myself up.

I have seen a lot of those on craigslist lately. I like the ones with front to back burners, but it is hard to beat a deal like that!

A while ago I would have said, yes, you are becoming an evil force of nature. But today, unless you have an SV, I can only say you are straying from the path.

A stick burner is another tool....I don't have one ...YET....

Before I buy a stick burner, I am going to build a masonary wood fired pizza oven. Ha

My dream is to build a brick pit like what I grew up with. Except mine will have steel lined firebox and cook chamber. Gonna be a while before I have it, but I WILL have it.
