Check out one of these... My go-to tailgate gasser setup is the Camp Chef Explorer 2 burner. A lot of horsepower, and a lot of versatile accessories... grill box, griddle, pizza oven, etc. Enough output to do large stockpots for oysters, Lowcountry boil, etc. Adjustable from low heat to mach 10. Breaks down nicely and stores neatly in durable canvas carrying kit.

Yes you have to have the grill box (I actually prefer the griddle for burgers). They make one that covers one burner and one that covers both. I have the single. Grate is heavy cast iron. Mine works beautifully, WAY more powerful than, say, a Coleman stove with griddle. It's hot enough to get some smoke from wood chips placed on or under the grates.
