jfmorris Nope it’s this or the Traveler. This has 10 year bumper to bumper and the grill next to it lifetime. Poor Summit Charcoal already got moved to other patio and is probably crying. Still have some rearranging and logistics to figure out, but the grilling cart is used most with the WSCG, so it takes up double the space.

Geeze don't know how I missed this gasser love in. It's ok to be a gasserhead, believe me it's ok. I know you guys are embarrassed and feel like the offset crowd is going to boo you but it's ok. Take a deep breath, you are among friends.
I've been grilling and barbecuing for more years then I intend to admit. I started with Webers but when I got to Texas it was all about offsets. So down the rabbit hole I went, got a big old Close pit. Unfortunately after a few years of cooking on the thing it wasn't enough. I was actually cooking direct in the firebox more than using it as a smoker. So I said screw it and went out and bought a DCS gasser. Thing was a tank. I figured I'd have the best of both worlds. Well I had a massive fire in the thing (a post I've already made somewhere here) that pretty much destroyed it. I replaced it with a Weber Summit about 4 years or so ago for all the reasons you guys talk about...mainly convenience.
Yes I'll remain a gashead, and a pellethead, and an offsethead and just about anything else that cooks good barbecue. Here's my baby Irene after a long overdue cleanup. Did some killer chops on her.

jfmorris I got tired of cleaning the rails. I almost always use the GGs flipped solid side up now. But then I mostly use my gasser for searing. When I cook chicken and chops, the solid side of the GGs or the GG Griddles work just fine. For chicken or chops with thick glazes, though, I prefer the rail side so there is less scorching, even though the rails are a pain to clean, relatively speaking
