Well I finally ordered and received the replacement cooking grates so the grill is ready for use. The rotisserie burner turned it to be shot and needed to be replaced. I had a b*tch of a time finding a replacement - getting backordered from 2 different e-tailers. When I finally found one that actually "had one" it got here and was the wrong model and didn't fit. I was very frustrated and rather than send it back I decided to cannibalize it for the parts I needed to fix the original. It now works perfectly. I haven't been able to remove the hood so I didn't get all of the rust off the inside, but I think I got enough that it won't drop into the food being cooked. I've decided, for now, to keep the charbroil it is replacing and turn it into a dedicated flattop. At the moment I just have GrillGrates turned flat side up, to but plan to eventually buy a real griddle top for it.

So, after 5 years of use and the elements, my free Broil King Regal was in need of an internal rebuild. I bought a set of stainless steel replacement burner tubes and a set of stainless flavorizer plates. They came today and I put them in after vacuuming out the chest to get rid of all of the accumulated rust flakes. The inside is now functionally brand new, for about $200. So worth it. The only thing left to do is replace the electronic igniter which quit working a couple of years ago. I have ordered one but it is currently on backorder.

@Dewesq55
Did you also order the igniter from Grill Spot? You've inspired me to make a repair and put away my propane torch when lighting my grill. I have a Broil King 5 burner that I've been very happy with.

TomfromtheSoo - I ordered the igniter from ereplacementparts.com. I was having difficulty finding the correct replacement part on other sights.
