    Pear tree wood for smoking

We have a pear tree we are cutting down. It grew fruit but didn't feel like fighting crows and squirrels ( didn't know they loved pears so much). Has anyone smoked Q using this fruit wood? My XL Big Green Egg is asking...

I've used it and couldn't tell the difference in flavor from apple. Bees took over both on my mom's property so she took a chain saw to them...

I've seen it used but not tried myself. Would be keen to see how it turns out!

I cut one down at my uncle's house. I like to use it in my kamados. It has a great aroma.

As long as you make sure the partridge isn’t there.

My family has ben raising pears commercially for over 120 years and we use it for fireplace wood, stove wood and great smoking wood. It has a smoke similar to apple but not quite as strong. A great smoking wood. Remember a lot of wonderful things come in pears.
