Food pics? How about wood pics?

This could be the silliest thread yet but for all you food pic'ers out there. Let's see some wood pics!

A gift from HawkerXP back yard. Thanks for the maple Hawker! I haven't cut it all up yet but this is a start!

Here is some I had stacked up for a KBQ cook a few months back. I need to go out to the shed and snap a pic of the cherry, oak and apple. I have a ton of ash too, but I just use that for the fire pit.

Splits are for my KBQ. Using the old Char-griller to store logs underneath. I guess it could run on sticks. I used to run it on charcoal adding a few chips here and there. I may end up modifying it to improve its performance.

Today's oak haul from the mountains. All of this wood has been through a fire and it burns really clean. Almost too clean. Smoking with it alone imparts very little "smoke taste". Although I cut it from trees felled with a bulldozer today, it is already seasoned. You can even see that a few of the logs have been hollowed out from the fire.

The uploading of this photo taught me a lesson. I took a photo which downloaded to my computer as .HEIC extension. I have never seen that before. I updated the Iphone last week. I changed it to a .jpg and tried to upload it. The site said that it was in a different format than that created and did not accept it. I tried to upload in the .HEIC and it was not an accepted format. Finally, I emailed it to myself, downloaded it as a .jpg and it worked. If you have recently updated an iPhone and are airdropping or downloading from iCloud, you may suffer the same problem.

All natural preburned wood. Priceless! Thanks for the iPhone tip. Technology is great.... until you need it. 😀

We get very little rain here in Southern California, but yesterday we had some beautiful thunder showers roll through. Best lightning we’ve had in years! However, I always forget that my wood pile is uncovered and now have a stack of soaking wet oak :-(

Too embarrassed to take a picture.

That's why some of my pics were taken in Th Blue Belle, an my garage; I always keep enough in there fer several offset cooks, nice n dry.

(My main woodpiles are outdoors, as well)...

That's what I do, Mr. Bones. One of these days I'll build a shelter for the wood, but it doesn't take many days sitting in the garage to dry out. I bring in about 1.5 5 gallon buckets of oak splits for a rib cook.

I keep a bag of charcoal and some wood in my Explorer to keep it dry. It's just too soggy humid around here this year.
