I use 5 gal food grade buckets (because we had a few unused) with screw on lids stored under a small table on the back deck. In winter I store them upside down with lids slightly open because the lids would freeze shut when upright. Also, for some in log form I have them in metal garbage cans with lids.

I have always kept mine in a galvanized garbage can. I just threw a partial bag away that I had stuck in a small shed. Mice decided the opened bag would be a good place to build a nest. Critters can't get in the cans!

I have tons of rounds that need to be split up. I need to start working on that at some point. We have had a few maples and ash trees go down at the Old Man's place. No workout like an afternoon of chopping and stacking!

In the reloading shed, in between the IMR 3031 and the Varget. Thats below the Federal large rifle primers, and above the brass tumbler...

So, I notice nobody is saying they do what I'm doing, which is leaving splits out on a rack in the backyard pretty much out in the open all the time. Am I messing this up somehow? They seem okay to me but I'm a novice. I usually heat up the splits on top of, and then inside of my firebox as I cook so that they're dryer and ready to go when I need them. Also, I do have a tarp-like cover for the rack that I pretty much only bring out for the winter...

I do this for splits, but keep chunks in plastic bins in the garage.

I've got a small pile of splits out in the open. Whether it's smart or not, who knows? They work well enough.

I have always kept my splits out in the open. Looks cool, taste good. My chunks I keep in the box in the shed.

ID:	548908 Cheap plastic storage bins (not air tight. Cheap dollar store stuff) in my prep table on the deck. Excess is in the garage.

As I chunk up wood fer my smaller cookers, I toss em into 5 gal buckets, stack in my garage, lidless...
