Smoking with apricot?

I'm taking down an apricot tree, and an apple tree. Should I cut the apricot up to smoke with or should I plan to just use it for the fire pit?

I've used apricot wood a fair amount. Usually pair it with hickory, but can't see why it wouldn't work just fine by itself.

Burn it in the smoker. I bet it will be great.

I find it to be mild and it adds a touch of sweetness not unlike other fruit woods. Not surprisingly, it's a lot like peach wood. Great with pork.

Apricot wood is great to smoke with.

I read that it was pretty mild. So maybe I'll pair it with other wood sometimes like theroc does.

Apricot is great! Peach-like but not as peachy as peach. Like a combo of peach & apple perhaps.

In general any tree which carries edible fruits or nuts is good for smoking.
