I can't remember who posted about this in the past. Huskee, DW Cowles, or some other stickburner enthusiast. I would like to process some oak and almond wood so I can use it in "The Good One Open Range" I ordered yesterday. The Open Range is designed to burn lump charcoal. I figured with proper processing the firewood would work as good as the lump without becoming overpowering. I don't want to take it all the way to the charcoal stage, just enough to avoid the heavy smoke problem. I'll be using the same wood that I use in my KBQ. All in the 8" to 10" range. I just need an idea of what the wood should look like before snuffing it out? I'm trying to avoid using the trial and error system, as error always seems to win!
