    New source for seasoned wood

I’m so happy that I had to share.
Al’s Best Firewood is back online, and they deliver!
Well, it’s his wife Angie, but same business.

A tree service with bbq knowledge, who delivers!
St. Pete is not well known for BBQ, this could be huge for me

$125 for two ‘carts’. Their smallest load.
They promised seasoned oak with clean, straight grain, and smaller splits for my stick burner.
Will post pics when it is delivered.

I've never used wood other than chunks, is straight grain important for BBQ?

Straight grain is also easier to split.

RonB - Totally. I even split the bagged chunks into ‘micro’ splits to use on the PK. That way they actually burn like a mini-stick burner, rather than smolder. Hickory is a real b*tch due to the crazy grain.

I am curious to see what size they give me. If they are 2-3inches across, all I will need is a chop-saw to get them to about 7-9inches long.

Johnny Booth. One of the people I buy wood for furniture from sez he has a ton of hickory and I can have all I want. I haven't taken him up on it yet.
