Ok, as you may know, I do not YET have a huge, 1,000 gallon propane tank converted to an awesome BBQ Pit. So, I do have a couple of great stickburners, my thicker steel local built, like a Yoder Witchia, and a brand new Jambo Backyard, insulated firebox and all.
Did I mention yet that I LOVE cooking on a stickburner! Well, I do. A significant problem I'm steadily solving is the wood issue. Not having wood seasoned properly, which I'm solving a couple of ways. And not having small enough splits to get the heat just right on these smaller pits. If I put on a big log, I find the temps can spike more than I want, and with only big pieces you just generally have less ability to control temp with fuel levels, vs. choking the fire which makes the smoke quality go down.

I may have found all of us a solution to this, which may, dare i say, Will, give your family some super fun buying you this for Christmas: the KindlingCraker!!!!
Maybe it was one of you that shared this already. I can't recall. Nevertheless, I LOVE IT!

Oh Yes! I came home, late, found the largest log I had around, and screwed this bad boy on top of it. Then grabbed my 4 pound hammer, and a split from my new Hickory pile, and split just 1 piece of wood...
My smile and excitement compelled me to run inside and grab a Junior Assistant Pitmaster Princess to video me splitting my 2nd stick on this lovely devise, so I could record it and share with you guys!
Here's the link to the video: https://youtu.be/DWdHpRbjrSk
So, if you want smaller splits to give you options when using your stickburner, click on the Amazon Link from AmazingRibs.com and search for Kindling Cracker and then share that with your wife so she can get it for you!!!!!
